Phuket – An Island of Entertainment

Destinations like Phuket have become more and more popular with worldwide travellers.

Phuket offers a plethora of activities for the most discerning of travellers. From the cultural mysteries of the temples to the bright lights of Patong, there really is something for everyone. If a beach getaway is your thing, Phuket boasts some of the best beaches in South East Asia. The quiet and serene beach in Kamala offers visitors a relaxing day surrounded by the turquoise seas of the Andaman.

If action and adventure is more your style, water sports using jet-skis or parasailing are available on many of the beaches, Patong especially, would be the place for this and while you are there, of course you need to spend the evening soaking in the atmosphere of Bangla Road, a mecca for travellers looking for a party.

Another option might be a trip to Kata beach, which boasts the best surfing on the island and many schools offer classes from beginners to the more experienced.

Many people travelling to Asia for the first time may have reservations about food but they need not worry. In Phuket you can find almost every cuisine offered world wide. If a burger and fries is what you are looking for, you will find many western style eateries. There are small stalls offering traditional Thai food, from personal experience these stalls are where you will find some of the best authentic Thai food on the island.

There are also many luxurious  Thai restaurants dotted across the island, so a night where you can dress up and spend the evening sipping cocktails after a first class meal is easy to arrange.

Getting around the island is easy too. Taxi’s are easy to find and these come in many varieties. A conventional cab is the most costly but still very reasonable. If you are a bit more daring, you can take a taxi bike or for a fun journey, a tuk tuk in the evening is always fun when they play music and have flashing lights, a must have experience while visiting phuket.

Phuket really does have everything, luxury hotels and villas, white sandy beaches, street stalls, great night life and high end restaurants. It really has something to suit everyone. An absolute must visit!
